Supporting the Starfish Program

Happy Monday everyone, what a fantastic start to the week! We are beyond excited to help out our community whenever we can, so this past weekend musicians from our Suzuki violin program were at Save-On-Foods, raising money for the local Starfish Backpack program. The Starfish program was created in response to teachers hearing the cry of their students. Teachers were heartbroken to hear their students were coming to class Monday morning hungry, reporting that they had not eaten over the weekend. Food, including fresh fruit and vegetables are placed in a backpack for students who might otherwise not have a meal over the weekend. All of the funds raised by our Music School students will go towards helping to fill these backpacks, which are handed out to students throughout our community.

Looking for a way to support this project? Fantastic! There are three more Fridays that you can help! Stop by Save-On-Foods on November 29th, December 6th or December 13th and donate your spare change from 3:30-4:30pm. 100% of the money raised goes towards the Starfish program. Children helping children…a win-win situation!
